Reaper Bloodmane, Gnoll Champion

I've had my eye on this mini for some time, and finally got to put some paint to it. This is a great sculpt:

Blacksting, Wyvern (personal) is complete!

This is the completed Blacksting, Wyvern from Reaper Miniatures. I liked this model so much, I wanted to see what I could do for a personal work. The color palette used was derived from a couple of the basing flock I have from Frontline Games. Forest Floor and Dark Soil.

Blacksting:

The model came with a plastic slotta base, which is not supposed to be part of this model, so I had to do some sculpting on the base to make it much more stable and it looks a lot better than just sticking it in the base as it was shipped. The Artsy Fartsy base building. I've never done anything much in the way of sculpting, but it turned out really well, and the model is supported much better now.

This is the color palette I chose for this project.

A badly molded Reaper Blacksting, Wyvern 02636 #2 On the Table!

This miniature is such a dynamic sculpt that I had to buy one for myself and see what I could do with the colors. Unfortunately, the miniature that I purchased was a factory defect. At some point, Reaper Miniatures produced a run that the base did not come out good enough so they shipped it with a plastic base instead. So I made my own. For a first try with putty, baking soda/cement mix, blue Tac and paint... it looks pretty good! This is still only about 50 percent complete. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out!

This is the color palette I chose for this model.

New base work begins.

Reaper Thorvald, Bear Rider

This mini is a production fail from Reaper. His right arm and shoulder are not complete and the gauntlet on that same arm is pretty melted. I have some Tamiya Putty on the way to see what I can do to fix him, but that side of the model will NOT be the proper viewing angle! I've never used putty and sculpted before, so we'll see how it goes. He's looking really good so far... besides that side of the dwarfs body.

The proper viewing angle:

Notice the armpit of the pole arm (pun intended). It's really not there, so his stump is attached to the fur cape. Not a good look, Reaper Miniatures.

Again, the proper viewing angle.

The arm has been detached for the 10th time. Is waiting for the putty.
