Striker Lance is complete along with the 149th backstory [fluff]

The 149th ACR Striker Lance [HHT] is complete!

A Shadowhawk, Catapult, Griffin and Super Griffin make up the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop Striker Lance.

This Striker Lance is meant to strike from range and have a very high mobility rating. They are all equipped with jump jets.

GRF-2N-X 'Super Griffin.' This particular Mech suffers from the obsolete and illegal design quirks in Alpha Strike.... it looks really cool though!!
It will be played as a GRF-2N if it ever sees the field.

SHD-2D2 'Shadow Hawk.'

CAT-C4 'Catapult.' When you really need a lot of missiles downrange quickly!

GRF-1S 'Griffin.'

The 149th Dark Horse Cavalry Regiment consists of the following:

+++149th Headquarters and Headquarters Regiment and assets.

+7th Reconnaissance Detachment [Danger Close!] This unit was part of the original 50th Heavy Cav recon assets on Radalah which earned the name Dark Horse Cav against the Proserpina Hussars.

+2nd Artillery Detachment. Also a former asset of the 50th Heavy Cavalry

    ++151 Armored Cavalry Battalion [Heavy]

++37th Infantry [Hover] and air cavalry assets.

The 149th Dark Horse Armored Cavalry Regiment is a current [3065] Mercenary unit operating in the Capellan Confederation space, the Republic of the Sphere, and the Free Worlds League territories respectively. Current Operations include incursions into Draconis Space as well as defensive deployments against the civil wars raging throughout Clan space.

The 149th is a former SLDF Eridani Light Horse and Free Worlds League unit. The 151st Light Horse along with the 50th Heavy Cavalry fought against the Draconis Combine's 4th Prosperina Hussars during the 3rd Succession War in 2900 on Radalah. Again in 2915, the Eridani and LCAF [Lyran Commonwealth] armored and infantry Battalions fought against the 4th Prosperine on Tamar, that all but wiped out the Hussars.

**Taken from Sarna Battletech Wiki: In 2946 the Commonwealth granted an extended leave to the unit, allowing it to recover from operations and rebuild the unit. Unfortunately for the unit, Commander Russel Bronson, son of the Light Horse's former commander, heard about the unit and, reneging on his contract to the Federated Suns, launched an offensive with his unit - Bronson's Horde - against the Light Horse's command on New Karlsruh. The attack caught the Light Horse completely by surprise. With only twelve hours to prepare, the unit split up, with the 8th Recon and 50th Heavy Cavalry taking the dependents to the safety of the nearby mountains while the other five battalions spread out to prepare for the onslaught. Bronson's Horde initially gained air superiority, but the Light Horse aerospace fighters rallied and were able to reestablish air superiority. The assault began to falter, but Bronson refused to be beaten. Gathering his forces, he sought out the Light Horse high command. Although Bronson's forces prevailed against the lighter Light Horse forces, the recon battalions soon outmaneuvered him and Bronson's 'Mech was shot out from under him by a barrage of missiles from Chippewa aerospace fighters. Bronson, unscathed despite losing his 'Mech, rallied his troops and fled off-world, vowing revenge. The entire raid was a boon to the Light Horse as they plundered a huge amount of matériel from the Horde.

It was at this point that the 149th was formed with the remnants of the 8th Recon and 50th Heavy Cav taking a share of the spoils and departing with their dependents.

The 149th Dark Horse currently call Terra Firma home.

...or something. That's their story, and I'm sticking to it. Until next time, fellow players.

149th Darkhorse Cav gets some much needed Mech and air support!

More Battletech painting getting done. I've had the air support for some time, but have just had the chance to paint them up. The Iron Wind metals are a giant PITA to put together, requiring pins on almost everything. The Marauders and Bushwackers all had to have everything pinned and glued. I actually had to put together the Bushwackers multiple times before I finally figured out the pinning process. The Marauders were pinned from the get-go!

A pair of Bushwacker X-1's for the HHT Sniper Lance.

A MAD-9S Marauder almost finished.

Bravo [Sniper] Lance/149 ACR.

A Karnov UR Transport [3055 upgrade] for hauling around infantry of the 37th Mechanized.

The Karnov, a pair of Warrior attack helos and a Ripper transport helo for the 37th Mech.

BATTLETECH - 149th ACR BACK ON THE TABLE

It has been quite some time since I visited the 149th, but I find myself with some time to revisit my minis. So 149th came to the table. I've had a few Mechs that I really wanted to get done for the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop.

The HQ Lance, consisting of An Archer, Catapult, Raven and Atlas finally has the Atlas complete. This 'mech is the centerpiece of the army and the Regimental Commanders' personal ride, so I wanted to do a more thoughtful paint job, but not so as to make the 'mech look like it just came out of the paint shop. He is mostly complete.

There are 2 Bushwackers and two different Marauder variants for the Sniper Lance attached to the HHT that also has a Bushwacker X-1 mostly complete now as well.

Without further ado - I give you HQ/HHT+

DarkHorse!

149th ACR

HHT 149th ACR
HHT 149th ACR... and a BushWacker X-1 from the Sniper Lance also assigned to HHT 149th.

The ATLAS AS-7K leads the way. This is a special edition metal from Ironwind Metals. I'm not sure of the date.

The Regimental Commanders' ride! [HHT01] ATLAS AS-7K

And the Archer [HHT02] The XO's ride. this variant is also a special edition scuplt from Ironwind metals. This variant is the Archer ARC-4M

HHT03 is a Raven to spot for all the missiles flying! The 149th uses a RVN-4L variant.

The Raven spots for the Catapult in the distance.

The Catapult is HHT04 and sports two LRM-15's and four medium lasers. This is the original Catapult-C1 variant.

And the HHT's newest [and first] Sniper Lance member - HHT23. A BushWacker x-1. There are a pair of these and 2 Marauder variants in the Sniper Lance that have yet to be commissioned. They are due to have final certifications and be run through the paint factory soon!

A couple extra glamour shots of the gang. Not a bad looking lance at all!

Until next time.
