OGRE Batrep #5: SFS 51 gets a decisive victory!

OGRE Battle Report [BatRep #5]

Scenario - Six objective zones on the map must be occupied to generate Victory Points at the end of each players' turn.

Forces involved: 300 Points of North American Combine units vs. 300 points of Soviet Federated States units.

Objective - Occupation: Neutral areas on the map provide points every turn if a player has a unit wholly within that zone. There are (2) 3-point areas, (2) 2-point areas, and (2) 1-point areas to occupy.

The map as it is seen from the Soviet side.

The map from the N.A. Combine side.

Disposition of the SFS armor on the left flank just after deployment:

Disposition of the SFS Infantry on the right.

The missile strike on turn 1.

The SFS Armored Brigade moves up the left flank to contest the objectives. A N.A. Combine Super Heavy waits on top of a nearby hill:

On the right flank, a Combine Infantry Battalion (GEV) and the Soviet Infantry Battalion (GEV) maneuver to secure objectives. The Combine forces would pull ahead early in the fight.

The right flank was a massive armor and GEV brawl with the Combine losing all of it's forces except for their mobile GEV-Command:

The Soviet Federated States glorious armor moves across the map to take the right-side objectives from the Combine. This action swung the battle to the SFS side as the Combine could not hold enough objectives to keep ahead in points.

The Soviet right flank with a skeleton crew of heavy tanks holding those objectives:

The Soviet Federated States final disposition...

...and the end game. The SFS take a Decisive Victory from the North American Combine. Most of the units on both sides were lost, but the Soviet OGRE MKII and the escort company of heavy tanks remained mostly intact.

FINAL SCORE:
Soviet Federated States: 98
North American Combine: 75

OGRE Batrep #2: NA Combine gets a Technical Marginal Victory over the Soviets forces by default!

Battle Report [Batrep #2]

Scenario - Modified Command Post Battle. Both sides have 1 emplaced Command Post and 1 Mobile Command Post. The mobile CP provides+1 on the dice when attacking for all units within 10 inches.

Objective - Destroy both Command Posts.

Result: Neither side destroyed both Command Posts.

Heavy guns took the day - but the Combine Artillery protecting their Command Post proved to be too much for the SFS OGRE FENCER. Just about 5 miles away from wiping out the Combine CP, the OGRE had his treads shot off and it's last main gun blown away by emplaced guns and a lucky squad of Heavy Infantry. The SFS mobile CP was moving with the OGRE and the Combine GEVs finally took it out on their side of the battlefield. The Combine did not have enough forces to launch an attack on the Soviet Federated States CP, so it remained well defended on it's side of the battlefield without being touched.
The Fencer-B took out it's points value and more in Combine armor. A huge firefight in the middle of the map resulted in most of the Combine armor being wiped out of existence by the OGRE and his 2 Super Heavy escorts. Pictured below is the aftermath and the SFS armored strike force moving to engage the Combine left flank:

OGRE Batrep #1:The Soviet Federated States lost big today...

OGRE Battle Report [BatRep #1]

In which the newly formed Belorussian 51st Guard Tanks Regiment misses a LOT of shots

I ended up missing 14 of 15 shots in the final two turns of the game an capitulated the win to the Combine forces out of sheer disappointment. Better luck next time I guess.

GEV Squadron and Mobile Howitzer moved out of cover to take out a Super Heavy. One of the few bright spots on an otherwise shit covered battlefield!

I proceeded to miss all of the shots with everything on the hill over the next two turns. I only needed a 3 or better on D6's and rolled (14) 1s and (2) 2s. I don't even know how one does that abysmally.
