OGRE Batrep #5: SFS 51 gets a decisive victory!

OGRE Battle Report [BatRep #5]

Scenario - Six objective zones on the map must be occupied to generate Victory Points at the end of each players' turn.

Forces involved: 300 Points of North American Combine units vs. 300 points of Soviet Federated States units.

Objective - Occupation: Neutral areas on the map provide points every turn if a player has a unit wholly within that zone. There are (2) 3-point areas, (2) 2-point areas, and (2) 1-point areas to occupy.

The map as it is seen from the Soviet side.

The map from the N.A. Combine side.

Disposition of the SFS armor on the left flank just after deployment:

Disposition of the SFS Infantry on the right.

The missile strike on turn 1.

The SFS Armored Brigade moves up the left flank to contest the objectives. A N.A. Combine Super Heavy waits on top of a nearby hill:

On the right flank, a Combine Infantry Battalion (GEV) and the Soviet Infantry Battalion (GEV) maneuver to secure objectives. The Combine forces would pull ahead early in the fight.

The right flank was a massive armor and GEV brawl with the Combine losing all of it's forces except for their mobile GEV-Command:

The Soviet Federated States glorious armor moves across the map to take the right-side objectives from the Combine. This action swung the battle to the SFS side as the Combine could not hold enough objectives to keep ahead in points.

The Soviet right flank with a skeleton crew of heavy tanks holding those objectives:

The Soviet Federated States final disposition...

...and the end game. The SFS take a Decisive Victory from the North American Combine. Most of the units on both sides were lost, but the Soviet OGRE MKII and the escort company of heavy tanks remained mostly intact.

FINAL SCORE:
Soviet Federated States: 98
North American Combine: 75

Soviet Cruise Missile Launcher joins the 51st

An old Epic 40K 'repurposed' Deathstrike missile launcher joins the OGRE Regiment as a missile crawler. I painted it in a fast Siberian snow scheme.

I'm starting to see all of my painting looks like cell shade animation for some reason. I'll take it!

OGRE BATREP #4: SFS scores the win!

Battle Report [BatRep #4]

Scenario - Six objective zones on the map must be occupied to generate Victory Points at the end of each players' turn.

Forces involved: 300 Points of Combine units vs. 150 Soviet Federated States and 150 Pan-European units.

Objective - Occupation: Neutral areas on the map provide points every turn if a player has a unit wholly within that zone. There are (2) 3-point areas, (2) 2-point areas, and (2) 1-point areas to occupy.

The Red, Blue, and White squares on the map are the objective areas and offer no cover benefits.

Result: Glorious win for the Soviet Federated States (with a Pan-European Brigade attached). Final Victory Points: SFS/PE: 79 VP's. Combine Forces: 69 VP's.

Just after initial contact:
The map and initial disposition of forces.

Soviet Federated states 51st OGRE Tank Regiment assets move to take the objective areas on it's map left-side.

The Pan-Euro Super Heavy Battalion takes defensive positions before relinquishing their turn.

SFS and Combine GEV's skirmish underneath the main bridge early on. Two LGEV's were disabled (white smoke) in the fray.

The Soviets and Americans collide just outside the canyon in an ill-fated move on commander Yuri's part:

Comrade Commander Yuri's last view:

And on the SFS/PE right side of the map, the Combine Commander unleashes the first of three nasty surprises:

And the second nasty surprise from the Combine forces - Cruise missile attacks!
A CM was fired at the SFS forces on the other side of the map, but precise shooting from the SFS gunners brought it down for no effect. The Pan-European forces were not so lucky.

The SuperHeavy Regiment and most of it's supporting GEV's were wiped by this nefarious fuckery from the Combine Commander!
The PE forces had 2 SuperHeavy tanks and 2 GEV's left on the map to try and stem the tide of Combine units rolling through the wreckage of the CM strike.

After the mauling of Comrade Yuri and the failed Cruise Missile strike, the 51st SFS takes it's attack to the Combine armor boxed in the canyon. The Artillery units in back were becoming an ever looming threat as they brought their guns to bear.

The SuperHeavy tank and two Heavy tanks that were disabled (white smoke) in the initial exchange of fire all came back on the following turn.

+++Update transmission from GSA. New surveillance images incoming+++

The North American Combine push up the battlefield after the failed missile strike on the SFS forces.

And on the right side of the battlefield - The "Douche Bag Brigade" strikes back!

And the third and final nasty play by the Combine forces... a nuke. Combine Engineers nuked the bridge, presumably to cut off the Soviet armor from pushing across the table for those objectives, but it was a wasted and desperate effort! (Or the Engineers were bored)

And an overview of the map.

+++Combine intercept surveillance. Battlefield image of the Pan-European held territory after the missile strike.+++

The SFS/Pan-Euro forces capture more VP's on this day than the Combine Commander could grapple with - even with his dirty tricks! Commander Yuri is avenged and the Douche Bag Brigade earns another Campaign medal.

FINAL POINTS:
Soviet Federated States(150)/Pan-European(150) = 79
North American Combine(300) = 69
